http://www.wnd.com/2015/10/left-wing-site-goes-after-jonathan-cahn/ Cahn Rebuttal
I thought this was going to be difficult. But I had barely started when I was
suddenly rolling in information. I quickly realized that it was to much to put onto
a Facebook box. So here I go.
First of all, I visited the page where the author gives his opinion of Charles Spurgeon.
Author finds instances of Charles Spurgeon exercising the Holy Spirit Gift of Prophesy
and Word of Knowledge---and using these gifts to cause repentance and salvation to
specific individuals who responded to the call of the Spirit and repented of sin.
The Author declares that such a thing is impossible. Those gifts have ceased, and the
only thing it could have been was a demon spirit of clairvoyance. He even criticises
the very words these people used to express their repentance from their sin.
So Charles Spurgeon brought deliverance and salvation to some sinners with the
help of Gifts of the Spirit, and this Author calls it demon possession, and criticises the words
the repentant sinners used to express their repentance. And attributes their salvation to a
work of the devil in Spurgeon.
This attitude alone disqualifies the Author from being able to judge anything. He has called a work of the Holy Ghost a work of the devil. Calling the work of God the work of the devil is certainly is a sign of incompetance.
So, knowing this author's mindset, let's go to his trashing of Brother Cahn.
He accuses Cahn of claiming that God created a substitute for Israel in the
United States. This is absolute nonsense.
Cahn points out what historians and Bible students have seen for years. That there
are parallells between Israel and the United States, as though the Lord used a similar
pattern as His model for both. These similarities are to numerous to go into here.
But just go looking and you find other preachers who have noticed this interesting historical fact. I'm not going to mention the other very well known preacher who has taught on this,
because someone might go after him to trash him too.
Next. The author accuses Brother Cahn of some terrible impropriety because he went
on the show hosted by the Mormon, Glen Beck. He went on the show because Glen
Beck invited him onto the show, because he wanted to hear what he had to say, and Cahn wanted to reach his vast audience.
Is there something criminal or shameful here?
Next. The comparison between George Washington and Solomon is a perfectly legitimate
literary tool to get across what Cahn was trying to say to his readers.
The Author makes a totally off-the -wall statement and leaves it hanging with no
reason for the statement to exist. He says the pilgrims were "probably" all Freemasons.
The pilgrims were all poor, uneducated, lower level society that the Freemasons would
not give the time of day to. They were "probably" NOT Freemason.s
Whatever their faults, these pilgrims would never have dreamed of going through the strange
ceremonies of Freemason initiation. Author is certainly historically inaccurate.
.
Next. A website declares that Brother Cahn teaches deep mysteries of the Bible. In this day,
in some places, John 3:16 is a deep mystery of the Bible. This is a perfectly
legitimate thing to say about studying the Word.
The Author resorts to put-down, ridicule, and sarcasm here, wildly accusing Cahn
of thinking he's the only one around who knows anything, and that he came to
"save the day".
Which is a wild accusation totally unprovable and useless.
Mr. Cahn teaches the Bible as God gives it to him to teach, and it is not necessary
to snarl at him and accuse him of thinking he knows everything there is to know.
We must guard against leaping to untrue conclusions and totally misunderstanding
what another person is intending to say. We should also take heed to Isaiah's
instructions
to not brand a person as wrong or evil because we disagree with a word that comes out
of his mouth.
"That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate,
and turn aside the Just for a thing of nought." Isaiah 29:21 KJV
The one that reproveth in the gate is the "Just" preacher warning against sin.
Isaiah says Do not refuse to listen to that Just person because of something
that is trivial and meaningless.
Next. Author implies that Cahn is of the Hebrew Roots movement and wants us all to go
back to observing all Jewish customs. This is not true. Rabbi Cahn is well
pleased with his Jewish heritage and has shared many fascinating things about it
with us.
Why should he not?
And he has the right to call himself Rabbi. It is an earned title of educational accomplishment.
It is not a title of Divinity.
Next. Quote from article: Question: It is stated that Jonathan Cahn “says that Zohar, an
extra-biblical, mystical source from which the occultic and mystical Kabballah is
derived, greatly influenced his writing.”
Answer: “Unfortunately this kind of statement represents some of the extreme and
bizarre opposition to The Harbinger – It is an extreme false accusation. No. I have
never in my life said that the Zohar has greatly influenced my writing – nor has it ever.
What this accusation is taken from and twisted out of recognition from – Is that I have
in some special teachings shared quotes found in the rabbinic writings which
unwittingly bear witness of the truth of the Gospel – things that most
Jewish people have no idea of – such as Isaiah 53 being about the Messiah, or God being Three in One, Messiah dying for our sins .. : End of quote from article.
Author even quotes, right here, Jonathan Cahn denying, that these Cabballah
writings in question ever influenced his opinions on things. He merely says that
in his vast research that all writers do, he found a chapter in this particular book that
fascinated him because it was a conversation between ancient rabbis who were reporting
favorably about the Crucifixion incidents----and he read this portion to some Jewish
people, who were really pleased by learning that this information existed.
Reading one chapter from a historical book does not make anybody a dabbler in occultism.
But while quoting the words of Rabbi Cahn and showing the video clip in question,
where he read the particular passage, -------
Author still presents it as Cahn being a dabbler in the occult -----. while he has on that
very page the proof that his accusation is untrue, presented in quoting Cahn's own
statement that it is not true.. including the video reading of the questioned passage.
Once again, the "Prosecutor" Author has presented his "case" in a most sloppy, unprofessional, certainly incompetant manner.
Next. Author accuses Cahn of being a Freemason, and shows a picture of Brother Cahn
touching his beard. He calls this hand gesture the same hand gesture that was
made popular by Mr. Spock as the Vulcan Salute on Star Trek. Here the Author
gets very confused. He puts up two totally different hand gestures. Neither of which is
a Freemason signal.
One of the signs is the Hebrew letter that Leonard Nimoy suggested to be the Vulcan
greeting on the Star Trek Show. It is a letter in the Hebrew Alphabet, used by rabbi's
when they pray in the synagogs.
Absolutely no relation to Freemasonry.
The other picture is a perfectly normal, every-day gentleman's gesture of touching
his beard.
Author seems to think both of these totally different pictures are of the same signal,
and identifies Cahn as a secret Freemason.
Even the Vulcan signal is not a Freemason sign.
Neither one of these gestures is a Freemason sign.
Does this author want to incriminate the Rabbi for the simple act of scratching his beard?
There is nothing incriminating here.
Except maybe of the Author himself, who seems to be trying
to pass off meaningless, erroneous material as some kind of evidence of something.
Next. Author declares that the Shemitah of the Jewish calendar does not in any way have
anything to do with any seven year cycles that might be noticed in the gentile nations
on the Christian calendar. If there are any seven year cycles, they are caused by the
conspiracies of the Freemasons, and not God.
There is a difference of opinion here. Not a heresy or occultism. Just a severe
lack of evidence to prove Author's opinion.
Next Jonathan Cahn appeared on TBN because he wanted to connect with the people out there in
the audience. Not illegal, immoral, sinister, or against the law or unreasonable behavior.
Jonathan declared that the God of Heaven, our Savior, is the God of the nations, Jew and gentile alike.
No heresy here, either.
Next. The Alpha Light is the title of a sermon about the Light of God and there is not a
single unscriptural or New Age suggestion in it, which is what Author wants us to think.
Cahn was speaking to a Jewish audience. That Jewish audience understood what he meant by the Alpha. Because it is the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet, and Jews understand "Alpha" differently than gentiles. It always has the meaning of the Light
of God. It never has the meaning of the devil's attempt at confusion.
It is in this section that Author steps out of the bounds of propriety. He juggles words
and sentences, inserts a paragraph where it does not belong, and uses that misplaced
paragraph to try to convince the reader that Brother Cahn is outright asking people to worship Satan.
These words, as they are put together, could be brought to a court of law and be proved to be an attempt at criminal slander.
Beginning of Author's words:
Author says: "Now we can see why Satan in Luciferianism refers to himself as
the Alpha light because he is still trying to be higher than God. Jonathan Cahn says,
“Learn the secret of using the Alpha Light in every circumstance to change everything”.
What he is saying is this, learn to use Satan the Alpha light, instead of Jesus Christ –
the way, the truth and the life."
End of quote from Author
Try to present this paragraph as evidence in a court of law, and the Judge would bar it because of its obvious attempt at forgery,. trying to make it look like some one said something they absolutely did not say--------and the presenter would be charged with perjury,.
It is an attempt to splice words together that were not spoken together, like people used
to do on tape recording machines, and charge a person with saying words he never said
at all, in any circumstances.
This is not just incompetence. This is a deliberate unconscionable, fabrication,
and assault on the Truth.
Cahn uses the term "alpha" to Jews, who have had that term in their alphabet for thousands of years, and know that it means the Light of God.
AND HAS NO OTHER MEANING.
And Author out of thin air, accuses, and declares that Cahn is using the term to mean the
devil, and is somehow tricking them into worshipping the devil.
There is absolutely no grounds, no evidence, no nothing, to justify the Author committing
this serious accusatory slander.
Next. The "Onement" refers to the "Atonement"----"At One-Ment" that Jesus bought.
This also is perfectly sound Christian teaching and a good sermon. This
pronuciation of the word atonement has been used by every preacher I have heard in the nearly 60 years I've been saved. It has no New Age meaning.
Every single one of these accusations are seriously distorted, unfounded,
and without merit.
I have seen this kind of thing happen before. God uses someone who is truly anointed and
obedient.
Then the devil finds somebody to try to discredit the person by spreading accusations
against him.
Jonathan Cahn has told us to repent. He has given us the scriptures that said,
this happened before. it is happening again. Take the lesson and repent.
Good fruit.
By their fruit you shall know them.
There is not a hint of occultism in any word I have ever heard him say.
His call to Repent ,which he gave at the Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC
was a move of the Holy Spirit that astonished the non-believers all around.
There is not a single offense you can charge him with.
There is not an accusation that can be proven and stuck to him.
It is all smoke and mirrors and desire to tear down.
This Author dug into some obscure historical records, to find accounts of Charles Spurgeon, only to badmouth and blaspheme the work of the Holy Spirit, and label Spurgeon a demon possessed clairvoyant, and those saved in his ministry , deceived.
For which lie, he will answer to the Judge on the Day of Judgement.
We have enough real trouble with the blasphemies and money grubbing and other offenses from
the likes of Copeland, Osteen, Hinn, Anderson. and the rest of that crowd.
Concentrate on them. Someone get up and expose Anderson's blasphemy from Hell , where he doubletalks people into thinking they should not repent of their sins . Get upset over those
doing really actual damage to the Body of Christ and confused souls.
Leave the true prophets to do what God called them to do.
In the confidence of the Holy Spirit that I present these arguments in
good faith, with only pure desire that the truth of God be revealed,,
I sign this as presented In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

JONATHAN CAHN ANSWERS DR. ICE
By Jonathan Cahn
In Dr. Thomas Ice’s “A Critical Look At The Harbinger” he states that Jonathan Cahn “appears to be a strongly committed Christian and zealous in his work for the Lord.” This mention is appreciated and is an example of civility and respect which is not always so apparent in some of the attacks launched against The Harbinger in recent days. It is also one of the few parts of the article I can agree with. But before going onto that, I want to return the recognition to note that I believe Ice is also a strongly committed believer, sincere, and zealous for the Lord and for His coming. I don’t know a lot about his work, but I’m sure I would respect it. We are all on the same side in seeking to advance the Lord’s kingdom in light of His return. But sincere believers and teachers can also misunderstand, misperceive, and make major errors in their assessments. This is the case here as it has been with a number of others.
COVENANTS & QUOTES THAT ARE NEVER THERE
Ice begins by stating:
Rabbi Cahn begins his presentation by saying that there are only two nations in the history of the world who are in covenant relation with God. They are Israel and America.”
This charge represents the foundation of Ice’s critique. It was the same charge that represents the foundation of T.A.McMahon’s attack in The Berean Call and the writer, David James. It only has one problem – It’s false. It is telling that with such claims being made, no one ever cites a quote that actually shows The Harbinger actually saying this. The reason is simple – It never does. The quote doesn’t exist. Rather, Ice’s assumption, and that of some others, are based on passages in The Harbinger along different lines:
“Israel was unique among nations in that it was conceived and dedicated at its foundation for the purposes of God…But there was one other—a civilization also conceived and dedicated to the will of God from its conception, America.”
Being “conceived and dedicated to God’s purposes” at its foundation is one thing. Being “in covenant relation with God” is something quite entirely else. If I dedicate my car to God and to the fulfilling of God’s purposes, does that mean my car is now in covenant with God? Of course not. Further, what is stated in The Harbinger on this point concerns to the actions of man, not God. A little further on, Ice states that regardless of what America’s Puritan founders did,
it does not mean that God recognizes such nations as being in a covenantal relationship like Israel.
I agree. The only problem is The Harbinger never claims that God recognizes America as being in a covenantal relationship like Israel. In fact, I would go farther than that. The Harbinger never states that America is in any covenantal relationship with God, whether like Israel or not like Israel. So what is the assumption based on? Ice writes:
“’Cahn continues, “Those who laid America’s foundations saw it as a new Israel, an Israel of the New World. And as with ancient Israel, they saw it as in covenant with God.’”
I’ve seen this quoted as the proof text that The Harbinger is declaring that America is in covenant with God, but note what the quote is actually saying.
“Those who laid America’s foundations saw it as a new Israel, an Israel of the New World. And as with ancient Israel, they saw it as in covenant with God.”
Seeking to establish a new nation after the pattern of Israel doesn’t make that new nation become Israel. And seeing a nation in covenant with God, doesn’t make a nation in covenant with God – certainly not from God’s end. I’ve actually heard two of those who have attacked The Harbinger say over the airwaves that the above statement is dangerous. Amazing. The above statement isn’t even a doctrinal one. It’s American History 101 – basic, foundational history. I would have expected discernment ministries to have the discernment to discern the distinction, rather than seeing historical statements as now being dangerous.
JEWISH CHRISTIAN SUPERCESSIONIST RABBIS
OR: HOW TO REPLACE MYSELF… WITH MYSELF
Ice goes on to write:
“Amazingly, the Jewish Christian Rabbi, Jonathan Cahn is advocating a form of replacement theology by presenting America as a “a new Israel.”
Yes that would be amazing – if it were actually true. But since it’s not, the only amazing thing is how such charges can be made. Why is there no quote cited from The Harbinger that actually says that God has replaced Israel? You guessed it – because it doesn’t exist. The Harbinger never says any such thing.
How could I possibly believe in replacement theology? As a Jewish believer, I’d have to replace myself… with myself! The congregation I lead is called BethIsrael. Our ministry headquarters is called the Jerusalem Center. We preach against replacement theology all the time. This charge and the fact that others have sought to use this as well gives the reader a little example of just how baseless the attacks against The Harbinger have been.
WHAT THE HARBINGER ACTUALLY DOES SAY ABOUT ALL THIS
The reason The Harbinger includes these historical statements concerning America’s establishment after the pattern of ancient Israel is that it forms a striking backdrop in view of what the book is about to reveal, that we are now experiencing the pattern of Israel’s warnings and judgment. The book does mention that in America’s striving after its founding Christian ideals, it has been blessed, just as righteousness exalts a nation. As to whether God has honored the dedication and consecration of its founders and, if so, to what degree, and in what matter, are left as open questions. And despite what Dr. Ice believes, the revelations presented in The Harbinger concerning the manifestation of the signs and patterns of ancient Israel’s last days exist independently of how one answers such questions.
Thus, this entire series of objections made against The Harbinger prove, in the end, to be as baseless and nonexistent as the quotes which are never quoted.
ISAIAH, AMERICA, & MORE NONEXISTENT QUOTES
Dr. Ice writes:
“Rabbi Cahn claims that Isaiah 9:10 also is a prophecy about contemporary America.
No, Rabbi Cahn does not. And this is another example of confusion and the resulting confused attacks concerning The Harbinger. I understand it, but it remains a mistake. The Harbinger certainly speaks of an ancient mystery that lies behind what is now happening in America. But the mystery is that of judgment and an ancient biblical template in which that judgment progresses. The resurfacing of these manifestations, the replaying of this progression, and the appearance of these specific signs as warnings of judgment, are light years removed from saying that Isaiah prophesied of them concerning America. Dr. Ice has confused it as have a number of his associates. So we must come to the question: Why is it that there isn’t one quote cited from all of the pages in The Harbinger, that simply says that Isaiah was prophesying of America? Yes, you guessed it again – because it doesn’t exist. The Harbinger never says that. And yet The Harbinger actually does state the distinction in the very first chapter that introduces the Scripture:
“The prophecy, in its context, concerned ancient Israel. But now, as a sign, it concerns America.”
The prophecy is given to Israel. But it forms a template and pattern through which God may bring judgment, and a progression of signs given to give warning.
‘IF MY PEOPLE’ - NO APPLICATION?
Ice writes:
Cahn compounds his error by citing 2 Chronicles 7:14 (one of the most abused verses in the Bible) as God’s message to America
He then goes into a section to prove that the Scripture is given to Israel. The only error compounded here is that of assumption. Yes, we know the Scripture is about Israel. But without even getting into Ice’s assertion that Scriptures can only have one meaning – are we now saying that Scriptures can never be applied outside the borders of Israel? Or that God cannot speak to us through Scriptures which, in the Bible, concern others? How about “The Lord is my Shepherd,” or “I call you friends.” Of course He can. And the central point here is that God gives hope to a people who have turned away from him, that if they repent and seek His face, if they come before Him in prayer and turn from sin, He is there to hear from Heaven in compassion and mercy and to bring healing to a land. Many believers throughout the nation believe that this very word, is crucial for this hour – not because of any assertion that its context is America, but that its overall principles are both applicable and crucial for America’s future.
REPENT ANYWAY (JUST NOT BECAUSE OF THE HARBINGER)
As to “the delusion” that some kind of revelation has been given, nothing here is claimed except that God gives insight to all His children who are to both study the Scriptures and be aware concerning the signs of the time.
Ice adds that Americans do indeed need to repent, but we shouldn’t believe that on the basis of The Harbinger saying it. So Ice agrees with the overall call and thrust of The Harbinger but doesn’t want others to agree with it because The Harbinger is saying it. People should believe the need to repent because of the Bible. The Harbinger rather is giving what most people are calling a stunning and urgent revelation into the signs of the times. Should we be upset that people are getting the message about repentance? Or should we rejoice in it?
THE HARBINGER PHENOMENA
I’ve watched in amazement as The Harbinger has become a national phenomenon. Most are describing it’s revelations as stunning, mind-boggling, amazing. It has been endorsed and praised all across the evangelical world, from pastors, ministry leaders, Bible teachers (extending into theological seminaries, and departments of biblical hermeneutics and Old Testament studies), and believers of all denominations from Baptist to Charismatic, from Pat Boone to Pat Robertson. The fruit of The Harbinger’s message is that people across America are seeing the urgent need for repentance, and arerepenting, and are coming to salvation, and are seeking God and praying fervently for this nation.
At the same time, I’ve been amazed as well to see a number of ministers come against it on completely erroneous and often mutually contradictory grounds. Strange also is the bizarre nature of many of these. That Dr. Ice’s critique misses the point as much as the rest is disappointing. None of its central three objections: A) that it claims a covenant between God and America B) that it supports replacement theology C) that it states that Isaiah was prophesying of America – hold up or apply. At the same time I know that something like The Harbinger could not come without opposition – whether hostile or well-meaning. One blog I came across on the web asked this question.
‘The strangeness of the attacks against The Harbinger has to make you wonder what the devil has against it?’
For this reason alone, on top of every other reason, the reader would do well to find out the answer to that question for his or herself. And the trumpet will continue to sound.
I thought this was going to be difficult. But I had barely started when I was
suddenly rolling in information. I quickly realized that it was to much to put onto
a Facebook box. So here I go.
First of all, I visited the page where the author gives his opinion of Charles Spurgeon.

So Charles Spurgeon brought deliverance and salvation to some sinners with the

the repentant sinners used to express their repentance. And attributes their salvation to a
work of the devil in Spurgeon.
This attitude alone disqualifies the Author from being able to judge anything. He has called a work of the Holy Ghost a work of the devil. Calling the work of God the work of the devil is certainly is a sign of incompetance.
