"WE have to stop short of saying that we are saved by the Blood of Jesus,
in the sense that there is some efficacy in the fluid that poured out of His Body."

John Mac Arthur defends himself on his opinion of the
Blood of Jesus------and digs himself into a very big hole.
Blood of Jesus------and digs himself into a very big hole.
John Mac Arthur rants against the gift of Toungues, He calls it a satanic counterfiet of the true gift of toungues
which according to him "CEASED" when Apostle Paul was still alive.

When YOU talk in toungues, he says it is a lot of demonic gibberish
that you are using to show off.
get attention, and strut your ego

★QUOTE: "John MacArthur does NOT teach that “the gifts of the Holy Spirit do not exist any more [sic].” Rather, he, in keeping with the historic teaching of Christianity, teaches that the miraculous sign gifts have ceased with the closing of the canon of Scripture shortly after the death of the Apostles. Not all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit have ceased (e.g., teaching, helps, administration, exhortation, and others remain), but only those whose function was to provide revelatory content from God to His church before the sufficient written Word of God, the Bible, was fully written. So no, miracles have not ceased; the salvation of a totally depraved sinner from darkness into light is the greatest miracle that God will ever perform, and that happens every day by God’s sovereign grace. But miracle-workers have ceased; no one is performing the kinds of works that Jesus and the Apostles did because God has limited the functions of such works to the foundational era of the church, before the canon of Scripture was completed. And yes, God still speaks today, but not in personal revelations and visions, but through His sufficient and inerrant written Word, the Bible." [END OF QUOTE
-----------------
This statement by the MacArthur supporters is self contradictory. You cannot say well, some gifts have
ceased, and others haven’t. First they say that MacArthur does not say that the gifts do not exist any more.
And then MacArthur declares TOUNGUES HAVE CEASED . When Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost,
he declared by the power of the Holy Spirit, “this promise is unto you, and to your children, and as many as
are far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. It says nothing about the gifts only being lent to
the church for a little while. The claim is that the gifts were only for the beginning of the church age. Since
when do you start on a journey across the country and only provide for enough gas to get you to the next town?
the Gifts are for every minute of the church age, because they are needed for the proper growth and functioning
and strength of the church. Your car needs gas for every mile across the country. The Church needs the
Holy Ghost power every generation and every year until we are called to glory.

The following is a Mix. The quotes have been taken from various you tube videos of John MacArthur speaking and or preaching.
They are his words spoken by him and recorded. Though the words come from different tapes, different sermons, I have mixed them
together to form a coherent and clear and undeniable presentation of what John MacArthur really believes about the gift of toungues.
MacArthur's Words:
Always we are to pray intelligently. Always we are to pray understandingly (says Paul) Always we are to understand what we say and to speak
clearly to God. When Jesus went into the garden to pray to the Father, He didn’t pray in some heavenly language. WHY SHOULD YOU?
Comment: (Did not Paul say “I will pray with the Spirit, I will pray with the understanding also”. Why then is MacArthur
so angry against praying without the natural understanding? Why does MacArthur resent people of today praying with the
Spirit as Paul said he did and we should too?end comment)
MacArthur's Words:
The carnal Corinthian Christian, like today’s charismatics, in their desire for the showy, and attention getting and the ego building and
the emotionalistic gift of toungues, using it as a badge of spirituality---they would say, I have reached a spiritual plateau, I can now talk
to the eternal God in my own private language. Beloved that is pure paganism.
(Comment: These words were delivered in the tone of an angry rant. This accusation against all who speak in toungues
accuses the speaker of putting on a showy, egotistical emotional display, to impress others with how spiritual he is.
Of being proud and lifted up, bragging they have a special secret connection with God. There have been several multiplied
millions since the Azusa Street revival---to say nothing of the countless servants of the Lord in middle ages and inquisition times
-------who have spent their lives praising God in the unknown toungues of the Spirit---------
MacArthur is branding them all as egotistical show-offs.
( Continued Comment MacArthur mocks the concept of toungues edifying the person speaking. This “self edifying”, he
declares to be “out of line”. Even to use the true gift on your own is a misuse, because you are evidently wanting to edify yourself. )
MacArthur's Words:
These people who think they have some great thing going in their private prayer language with God, that doesn’t do anything for them
either because there is no knowledge of what they are saying. Consequently there is no learning in the mind consequently it is all sensual
ecstasy. It is a feeling and emotion and Christianity has never been predicated on a feeling never.
So Paul says there is a true gift, which as we saw from 13:6, has since passed away.
Remember? TOUNGUES HAVE CEASED
(Comment:So now we have the answer. MacArthur declares that the supernatural gift of toungues has ceased to operate.
And whenever you do hear a person speak in an unknown toungue, it is satan’s counterfeit. He dclares that even in Corinth,
the true toungues ceased and Paul had to deal with a satanic counterfeit.)
MacArthur's Words:
If you have the true gift that’s fine.but we have to prevent----- pagan forms to infiltrate the truth of gods pure church.
( (Comment. MacArthur at one point reads the testimonies of people describing their own beautiful experiences of
speaking in toungues. Then he says the following:)
MacArthur's Words
You might then ask the question, what then is wrong with such an experience? Well on the one hand there isn’t anything
particularly evil or immoral about it. You just disassociate it from the Bible and disassociate it from Christianity. If you get
some pleasure out of standing in a corner by yourself or sitting in a room alone talking gibberish to yourself, if that does
something for you , then I suppose that that does something for you from a psychological standpoint, it’s not a moral issue.
It may be harmless if something makes you feel good, it makes you feel somehow better, in control of your life.
You’ve had some warm experience
So be it. But don’t call it intimacy with God.
Don’t say it makes you spiritually strong.
Don’t say it makes you delirious with spiritual joy
Then ask yourself the question, could I through t his means be deceived? Could this be dangerous?
The answer to that question has to be yes.
Comment:
To sum up, MacArthur is angrily against, in active hostility to, all displays of the supernatural gifts of the Spirit.
If it did not happen in the very few years of the early church, then he brands it as a satanic counterfeit. He is not after
the actual false prophets in this generation who have put on displays of false representation of the Spirit. He is against all of it,
all of the real thing. All the way through the Azusa Street revival back to Corinth.
His opinion, stated repeatedly on these and other videos,, is that People who talk in toungues
in public meetings in church are egotistical, attention grabbing show-offs.
So they should stay at home, sit in the corner all alone and talk gibberish to themselves.
The Scotsman who interrupted his church service did very truly have a message from God. The Holy Spirit is grieved.

Intruder ushered off stage during John MacArthur sermon Tue 25 Aug 2015
By Marcus Jones
Video footage has emerged showing a man claiming to be a prophet disrupting a sermon
being delivered by US pastor and author John MacArthur.
The man, who speaks in a Scottish accent, interrupted the service at Grace Community Church,
in California, last week claiming the preacher had "grieved the Holy Spirit".
Before being ushered off stage, he said: "Your doctrine of cessationism is an error.
He has been grieved ,John MacArthur.
"I've been sent to tell you that...you don't believe in prophets - you're looking at one.
"God have mercy on you and teach you the truth."
Following the incident, the 76 year old preacher continued his sermon to the hundreds
gathered suggesting the security team would handle the intruder with gentleness.
Mr MacArthur, while authoring over 150 books and being described as one of the most influential
preachers of his time, is deemed controversial by some - mainly because of his teaching on
cessationism.
He believes that spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues, prophecy and healing ended
at the time of the deaths of Jesus' disciples.
